He is one of the pioneers of FMX and his first competition victories reach back to 2002. He is one of the only active riders that learned the back flip the hard way, straight to dirt.

Nick Franklin hails out of New Zealand and grew up on a farm just outside of Tokoroa on the northern island. He has taken part in practically every big tour in the FMX scene from the Crusty Demons of Dirt, Red Bull X-Fighter, FIM IFMXF World Championships to Nitro Circus. His best result was a third place at the Red Bull X-Fighters in Madrid. Nick started with the legendary riders of the sport and still hangs on to the pace of the wild young kids. At Red Bull X-Fighters 2016 in Athens, he came out with a 540 on the quarter pipe and the body varial in his run. This was a huge statement of progression from the rider that started with the pioneers.
