Both Mat´s father and grand-father raced motocross, so it was no other option then to get up on the iron horse at young age. After climbing on up thro the amateur rankings and at the age of 20 Mat finally turned professional. But soon his lust for jumping and doing tricks became bigger and bigger and he put his racing carrier to the side and turned in to Freestyle Motocross instead.

Now a few years later we can all see that it was a wise move, with a whole bunch of X-Games medals, and always one of the guys to look out for on all international contest, Mat has become a legend of his own sport. With support from Swatch, Red Bull and KTM, Mat always delivers what is expected.
