The two FMX4Ever Nicks - DeWit and Franklin, joined the German riders for the annual FMX at the SX race in Stuttgart’s Porsche Arena.
Riding in the Porsche Arena is always a little bit tricky because of the height of the ceiling. You want to go big, but don’t want to hit the roof like have seen at some past events. Andre Villa touched a roof doing a flip with his back tire and Petr Kuchar left a foot print from a 9O’Clock Nac.
Normally, the minimum height needed for a standard 20m gap is 13m. In Europe, 20 to 21 meters is the most preferred gap from a 8m radius ramp and allows optimum airtime for tricks. Squeezing under the roof is a challenge and we love challenges! At a 16m distance, you have to be much faster into your tricks and much more precise on your flips. In Stuttgart, there is always a great crowd that is amped and loves FMX. That’s the energy we need.

Franklin says flipping the small gap is always a little nerve racking but in the end if feels just like a 21m jump, just in 1st gear. Go for it!
